Aeris - 53.48% (8,965 brackets) |
This is one of those matches that was decided well before it begun. This was supposed to be a match between Aeris and Gordon Freeman, but thanks to Freeman's historic flop against Armstrong in the first round, Aeris was given a virtual free pass into the divisional semifinals. After all, if Aeris already beat the more popular Dead or Alive representative in Kasumi, what could Armstrong possibly do?
Of course, don't tell that to the 46% who thought that either Kasumi, Armstrong, or Freeman would actually take down Aeris in this four pack. Late in this contest, you'll see all sorts of prediction percentages that make absolutely no sense, such as this one. If Aeris was the 3 seed in this four pack (which she should have been), there is no doubt that her prediction percentage would have been much higher. But regardless of all that, Aeris fulfilled her role well. She won this four pack with ease (and made Freeman look like an absolute joke in the process), and was set to move on to the Eastern Semis where the board expected her to bow out nicely to Snake.
Interesting Facts[]
- This is one of only three matches in contest history, and one of only two in the 4x16 format (the other being Ganondorf Vs. Magus) to occur between two lower seeds.
