2008 Smurf's Top 500 Users was the fourth-annual ranking of the entire Board 8 userbase by Smurf. The 2008 list was posted in mid-September.

Contest starts in 8 days, I'm going to be really busy after that and if I feel like doing a board 8 project I'll have UOTY 2009 anyway so I figure now is a good time for this yearly event. =P
Basic idea and aim is that everyone on the board who reads this will get ranked in some capacity. If I don't like you? 450 or lower, I'm indifferent 200-450. And if I like you Top 200.
- There's no such thing as "not making the cut". Basically if you're not here I either don't know you exist or forgot about you and yeah it's going to happen to someone I really intended to include. It always does. ^_~ @ Soul and RPGGamer
- Don't use phrases like "_____ is too low/high." This is my opinion and my opinion only and I'll attempt to justify it as best I can. Question it, comment etc. Disagreeing with my opinion is fine but it'd be nice if you could explain why you think I've got the wrong impression of someone or whatever.
- Predict! This is one thread where 1) Inviso is perfectly justified!
- Finally my aim is to get it finished before the contest begins, it's a tough ask but at the very least I expect it to be in the dying stages when the 18th swings around.

And now for the easiest part of every list makers job. The Cuts.
While I wasn't able to cut all of you, I did cut a lot of you. ^_~
Really though this year has been packed and for the first time ever I didn't manage to fit everyone I wanted to into it. I cut 16 users who I did want to rank on this because there just wasn't enough room. In fact I should be cutting 17 but I just couldn't cut anyone else so one position will have to be shared.
What does being cut mean? It doesn't mean I hate you, or that I particularly like but rather you're someplace in the middle and expendable. Sorry.
While not exhaustive these are the people I wanted to rank and got cut, there are I'm sure many more I've forgotten about entirely but I can't rank you yet for obvious reasons.
I'm mentioning these names now so that these people aren't going to turn around when the list is finished and claim I forgot about them, I didn't I just didn't have space for you, better hope for a 600 user list next year. ^_~

Between the internet, real life and even fictional characters this guy is possibly the most unlikable person I've ever encountered. He's like a poorly written 70's Batman villain in that he's so poorly rounded and transparent in his wicked ways, it's borderline crazy that there's a guy like this out there. o_0
He's so spiteful and hate filled, angry and sadistic. Every negative emotion you can think of this guy probably displays it in abundance. Still not convinced? Let this sink in for a moment.
He hates..no loathes the very community which he by personal choice chose to be a part of. To the extent where he prolifically marks so many people around him that his marking rights have actually been removed. If that's not a first it's a very rare occurence.
He's a republican, he supports the death penalty, he's been a part in the US Army, spams the same spiteful jokes over and over and well is just a textbook case of what I'd class a hate worthy person.
I can't think of a single redeeming quality he has and this is something that I've never said and hope I never will say about any user or person ever again. To place anybody above him when be an insult , he's so far detached from the rest of this list I was almost considering not ranking him here at all.
I've heard some people like James and SHINE comment on his negativity having a certain charm. Yes he is unique and yes I can understand why he could be considered interesting and later in the list there are users who entertain me because of their blatant flaws but Muffin's cynicism and spitefulness are just things I'll never pin down as being charming.

If there's one guy I'd place next to SmartMuffin without guilt it'd be this dude. While he isn't spiteful or hatefilled he certainly wins the award for most ignorant poster and could severely challenge for most annoying too.
SDR is objectively a bad user and I don't think there's a single person here who'll defend that, not even himself. He's that self-contained and oblivious that I don't think he even realises what's happening around him or what other users think of him.
He gets a lot of stick for having a fondness for young girls and being a redneck but one thing he doesn't is that he's a huge attention whore. He's one of the few users that must have a 90% post ratio in their own topics as opposed to others which is why the alt debate was grounded for so long.
In summary, SDR probably isn't a bad guy just a very very weird and creepy one and while he has his moments of hilarity they're getting increasingly rare and mired in a swamp of repetitive crap.

This is a guy you're either going to be nodding along with my judgement or throwing a confused look at your screen as to why he's mixing it with SDR and Muffin. BT is a stats topic regular and rarely shows himself outside of there. If you frequent that topic you'll know what he's about, if you don't let me enlighten you.
BT like a lot of people has some very suspect contest predictions, yet unlike a lot of people he tries spin stats in favor of characters he personally likes and unlike more people still he proceeds to set these spins as fact in his mind and attempts to ridicule those who don't see them as such until he's severely proven wrong which is countered by more stat spins.

EC is a bit like a sharper, less extreme SmartMuffin. Yet he's in a similar vein none the less.
He's a very confrontational guy, and I've never gone in for that type of user who can't grasp the concept of a friendly internet debate. He either seems to agree with your point of view, doesn't care or it's e-war.
But he's not without his pro's. He's occasionally hilarious in an offensive kind of way, especially when he used to mingle with the jp. He's always struck me as a typical /b/ user who somehow ended up on B8. Fun to watch from a distance, toxic if you get too close.
496. Mershiness
I should probably have some dramatic revolution to accompany this entry given that Mershi has dropped almost 400 places since last year but I really don't. He's continued being himself but his frequency of posts have sky rocketed and much like eating too many marshmallows I think I've overdosed on Mershiness, vomited all over the rug and felt like I never wanted to touch the stuff again.
The big change in him is how much he's been around last few months. He's gone from a regular interesting poster to downright annoying because I'm convinced that nowadays he's the most frequent poster on the site. Mershi's style was always being loud and standoutish and that worked because he wasn't constantly in your face, he made his posts count when they happened and forged a decent if somewhat mixed name for himself.
Now he's everywhere and as loud as always. He challenges you, was the key spammer in the MSS fad, kisses a lot of ass to certain people and is immature in every respect. I've seen him attempt to exude a forced authority in some of his debates nowadays and that's ridiculous although entirely in character. Mershi's in your face and it's almost unavoidable unless you ignore him and his several alts. Which is something I've done and that's an action I don't take lightly. I've only ever blocked 3 users, one is Muffin, one is Mershi and the other is coming up soon.
And unlike the ones I've listed so far, it's not that I have something against Mershi or think he's a bad person. I don't, I think he's a nice guy just incredibly annoying. If I were to make a fictional character comparison to him it'd be Elmyra from Tiny Toons. We all know her intentions were good but that's where the praise ends.

Curt is totally lame and sometimes pathetic but in my opinion usually in a fun way so it's an "XD what a dork" kind of situation when I read his posts. I do believe though that he is a douchebag and little explanation is needed for this, his antics during the Excalibur League demonstrated this.
But I find him funny on occasions, he does go around challenging people to e-fights but 9 times out of 10 ends up embarrassing himself so he's harmless in that sense. And taste the lightning is kind of funny. But still, very much like a comic relief sort of villain on the board.

TheRock is what I'd deem the prime example of the herd mentality on the board influencing someone. At times he strikes me as a diet Sess stalking random topics cynically sneering at people in the process exhibiting an attitude that Mershi would term "feeling your above the internet".
Now whether he thinks he's better than the internet or any other form of communicative media is impossible to prove, but that's certainly the impression I get off him. Lately I've found him being abrasive, overly sarcastic and overall just not a very likable person. He doesn't contribute a lot to the board but when he does it seems to be just short sarcastic jabs at someone in their topic which is surprising coming from someone who in the past has been very vocal about his near suicidal depression.
His claim to fame is obviously his high ground but even that has gone from dependable lulz to sporadic updates and far more hit and miss in quality.
Overall I don't hate the guy or anything, I just don't care for his attitude.

Speaking of grudges earlier, here's one guy that I DO hold a grudge for. And one I don't expect to subside. While a mildly reasonable and interesting pundit for contest stats Leon is an elitist through and through. To the extent where he very rarely even leaves the safety and warmth of the CS&D den. Not just but occasionally fills said topic with derogatory remarks about the "other" users on board 8 who aren't statheads and makes sweeping judgements about their gaming interests.

If I were to name one user who's changed more than anyone in the past year it'd be HM. I never especially liked him in the first place but at least appreciated him for sticking to his guns. But he seems to have developed this newfound sense of arrogance and I suppose disrespect towards Board 8 in general. He's adopted a new lazy style of typing, now seems entirely anti-Nintendo and Japanese gaming in general and far more pro to the Xbox and stereotype frat boy games to the extent where I've seen him criticising a game and I quote claiming the reason for it being a poor game as "Needs more guns". I don't know if I'm getting an inaccurate impression of him or if he's just the most impressionable person on the planet but if the latter a weak individual is added to my already mixed view on him.

While his daily Tomba topics might have set sale he still has a tendency to make annoying gimmick topics at the exact same time every day which is early morning for me. One of the reasons why I really don't like that timezone on the board and avoid coming here during then.

A very similar style user to rex in that he's a sort of hermit character on the board who makes incredibly annoying topics sporadically and very little else. Remember Terdus? Yeah...
489. Stingers
The more I find out about Stingers the less I like him and while yes he occasionally fun and interesting to read his posts, however in the last year he's become more and more like the personified competitive gamer that I despise.
Take Brawl, he talks about it in insane depth almost every day even months later and being into a game is great and all but this isn't the brawl board and I'll never see the motivation or point of informing a contest board that yu are now using Kirby instead of ROB. Such side comments are loudly brandished by him regularly but even that's just a minor quibble.
What really bugs me about him and what's the key reason for his giant drop this year is his competitive and arrogant nature in playing. If he loses a game in brawl he has an excuse, if he wins he'll boast.
Just the other day he claimed he was a "better" Mario Kart Wii player than me, which is interesting boast not only because he has never played me but as well that no board 8'er on the records has a better win rate on me than I do on them and that's including people like DSR, GK and SHINE. Now not that I'm claiming I'm better than him but rather that I wouldn't have the arrogance to claim such a thing having never seen him in action.
He's like a guy that crawled out from the trough of the internet that is smashboards and found a home here, I just really don't like his attitude.

It's just never clicked between me and Josh and I've tried to appreciate him but in recent years I don't think there's any reason to do so and plenty to do the opposite.
1) I don't like how he constantly opens his topics nowadays with some reference to how he barely posts anymore. And he's more than once used that excuse for bad showings in user contests or other popularity polls which is pretty sad.
2) A guy who cares so much about me and my antics that he's actually gone to a mod before begging for my usermap details. Why he'd care so much is beyond me.
3) His UOTY shenanigans in 2006(?) where he threw a tantrum related to the previous years results pulling himself out then a day later putting himself back in. He was denied because of his attitude and threw a tantrum during the contest for the next few months.
Say what you will about Josh he just rubs me up the wrong way.

I remember lurking once during spring last year when I wasn't here at all and seeing a topic about me and it's always interesting to find out what people are saying about you behind your back. Nothing unexpected for the most part except for what I saw Lou saying. He was always a guy I liked and thought I got on well with and to see him say attack me when I wasn't there and in a voting topic vote for a guy he admitted he hated over me claiming the reason in his own words as "to spite Smurf" makes me really wonder about him. Maybe I should ask what I should expect from a guy named "angsty" lou but adding in his constant self bashing and negativity makes me thing I got the wrong impression of him previously.

LTM despite being around forever in the past has been one of those users who was just sort of there for me. In that I recognised he existed but that was about it, I couldn't actually name a single thing about him to the extent where I didn't even rank him last year. >_>
But this year he's stood out to me a lot, at first it was just his giant photobucket and let me just say one thing about that. It's really not as funny as some people think. There's some gems sure but much of it is just a still from a random anime with some internetism text accompanying it. A lot of meh parts to it.
But anyway LTM has otherwise given me a bad impression, he seems to have come out of his shell and is now in full flow around the board. While he's not especially mean or anything he's quite annoying and at times needlessly dramatic. His mental setup to me seems to hone into a topic then think "ok what image can I use to mock this guy?" and the more he posts the more that becomes apparent and the more it begins to grate.

I've never really seen him in full swing which seemingly would warrant him to be one of the most hated users on the board. Through the Ace Interviews along with SDR he was the most common victim of the "bat to the nuts" question and If I'm honest I've never really seen it warranted.
Though what I have seen of him is bad, he does seem very anti-social though I am the kind of guy who can tolerate douches so long as they aren't persistant and frequent ones, those guys kill me.

Like Leon he's a CS&D elitist who thinks he and his contest opinions are greater than all others outside his circle. Like Leon he doesn't like to mix with people outside of the CS&D topics or his "4-pack" board but when he does he cleverly likes to use them for promoting his band. Getting people to vote for his band on music sites, flogging his wares and begging for someone to record his live performances. I don't like the guy but I guess you have to admire him in a cunning way for using the board well.

If EC is just plain ol 4chan then Wylvane is a /b/ **** through and through. Seems to have got his 2nd wind around here lately as he's prominent as he's been since 2003 now. Basically Wylvane is a total douche and he will happily admit as such, calling him this is probably a point of pride for himself. He doesn't like people here and not in an anti-social Muffin kind of way but rather in a "pissing random people on the net is uber fun" kind of way. And I guess it can be if done sparingly and it not being the sole thing you do but ok, Wylvane is still interesting despite the obvious flaws and he's the type of guy we probably need more of around here to keep the place interesting. Even if it does mean having more people willing to report you to the authorities. -_-

Dropping a long way because he made one big mistake and that is returning to Board 8 where he's unavoidable and everywhere.
Albion's an odd character and maybe a very stereotype nerd in that he's incredibly hardcore in his hobbies. He plays WoW incessantly, same with Rock Band. And he's obsessive with gaming news but what really bugs me is his condescending attitude to people with different interests to his own, especially with regards to popular interests he doesnt have such as Nintendo or Square or Sony or any of that stuff. We've all seen Albion linking to Kotaku articles and twisting so that it declares the imminent downfall of some popular board 8 interest, it'd be excellent trolling if he just did it sparingly and not..hourly.

If there was an award going for user who hates the most on the internet I have no doubt that Coxman would sweep it. There's e-hate to the point where you're like "you're dumb". There's e-hate to the point where you block or leave the board because of someone and there's just plain e-loathing where you want to inflict bodily harm to somebody you don't like on the internet. That's where I feel XIII is at. He comes across as volatile at all times and guess what? He entertains me in a Vlado like way, he's so blunt it's funny. I can actually appreciate him regardless of his feelings on me.

Moogle's an "ok" user who tends to do a lot of ok things to the extent where it's very hard to classify him. He doesn't really have a group or particular style. He's not a troll but he does troll, he's not in the clique but mixes with him, he's not in the cynical quartet but sometimes acts like them. He's just a very widespread user who covers a lot of ground around here.

I still say a poor man's Forsaken or yazzy but in these dark times for board contests I think I'd welcome a poor, crippled, blind and any other ways handicapped Forsaken to be around.

Sess is filth. I'm being blunt here, he's maybe the most horrible and vile person I've ever met and to put things in comparison, if I met Muffin in real life I'd probably give him a brief glare for being a douche and that's that, I harbour no resentment to the guy. If I met Sess in real life I'd probably be more inclined to land a right hook on him than a simple glare. He really strikes me as being a textbook internet bully and the more I find out about him the more I understand how vile and sour a person he is beyond that.
Why an e-bully? Check his mannerisms and history, he constantly goes aims for the weakest link in the board. Never the most annoying guy or the most vocal one, in fact he loves those guys just look at Vlado, Muffin or Mer. Strong, confident people no matter how idiotic will always be big hits in Sess's books.
Isolated people with specific vulnerabilities will always be his target.
-> His oldest victim has been ertyu, who if you didn't know before you must have realized with his newspaper picture is a person with at best mental inhibitions. ertyu simply wants to paint his pictures and talk about games he plays on the board. He's not a bad person and should be given the courtesy to allow him to do those simple tasks. What does Sess do? Ertyu being the weakest link becomes a target. So Sess steals his AIM to IM everyone including his family as well as getting his gamefaqs account banned. I talked to ertyu during this and believe me it wasn't all lulz for him. He told me that he was embarassed and upset and his hatred for Sess since should prove this to everyone.
I'll all about having fun and antics on the internet, and I've done as bad if not worse than Sess to people's accounts. So before I'm called a hypocrite let me explain, those were with people who I had personal beef with. Not targets, but rather people who targetted me and I felt like returning the favour.
Sess? Sess targeted a mentally handicapped person with no friends, stole his accounts and then later proceeded to upset him further by introducing hurricane blasters to rival his drawings. If he did this to everyone it wouldn't be as bad but it's always the weakest most vulnerable people and that's bang out of order.
-> Of course there's more, linkhatesganon was another of his victims last year, you may not have seen it around here but on BE3 Sess was insane with his attacks on him. First of all he attacked him on his religious preferences, then on his ability to speak English, then used a well known derogatory word for latino people constantly and proceeded to claim he had a sort of mental disability because he was homosexual. Now all of this was not just a once off, he did this for weeks maybe even months over the boards, sending private messages, topic floods, everything. He just completly assaulted him to the point where LHG was actually getting upset over it and requested many times for GMUN to ban Sess only in the end for him to lessen visiting the board. Again targetting vulnerabilities.
-> Check out Dr Pizza. What's his vulnerability? He's poor. And there's nothing Sess likes to do more than claim superiorty to some guy over the internet because of his inherited fortune.
Add in his drug addiction, his regular stories of getting fired in his latest job, struggling in college and the constant bragging of him owning property and figures on how much he spends on clothes etc and I really believe that this dude has severe anti-social tendencies. I just can't imagine him functioning in society at all, he just has so many fundamental issues.
So why isn't he #500? Simple he's entertaining. When he's not terrorising people with below the belt insults he can do some very entertaining stuff like his single handed hell rising raid.
But like I've said, funny or not the guy is filth. I just couldn't stomach putting him any higher.

Ashe on board 8 is a lot like watching a vicious animal in the wild. Enjoyable if you can find a nice spot in the bushes where there's no chance the wild Ashe will spot you. He's got some interesting viewpoints and some altogether solid tastes in gaming like his Final Fantasy taste and more recently his TWEWY love. But he's best kept at arms distance, engage him 1-1 and he'll rip the proverbial face off you.

Fairly interesting newbie who seems to grind a lot of people badly....actually that's a really unusual term to use isn't it...I mean grind people?, maybe I shouldn't be writing these while slightly hungover. >_>
Anyway he's got some "interesting" opinions on how the contest will go and seems to firmly believe them, he's a fish no doubt but an interesting one. Edouble is known for 2 things, the hilarious Alucard Kart and the hilarious Vlado treating him like a deity. I've never actually seen Edouble talk about Vlado but supposedly he works wonders over AIM giving amazing advise about not having e-relationships or something. Vlado holds him in very high esteem regardless, high enough to claim him as objectively the best user on the board in 2006 (?) despite him having like 2 posts in that year. >_>

XERD is right up there for competing with worst user on the board but his consistency to the same topics is kind of funny although alarming, I actually see a lot of similarities between him and SDR.
If you don't know who he is, he's basically a technogeek. So much so that he displays his uh system specs in his sig, he's that proud of it.
The only time I see him posting is when he's criticising things like the Wii for not having shiny graphics.
Really, Really bad user but he tips the scales so much he's starting to wrap around to the good end.

Grace has become somewhat more stable and like a lot of people is someone who I've yo-yo'd with regards my opinion of them over the years. I think I've settled on "mixed" which is probably fair.
MYC is a very nice person, generally friendly, quite honest and quite blunt and I do feel very sorry for the loss of her mom lately.
But at times MYC can be harsh and very very morbid. She's far too gung-ho on attacking other peoples beliefs, especially when it comes to things like Religion. Sometimes theres just very little understanding or acceptance from her.

Holy Excalibur is a very odd case in that I know his wife for reasons off of board 8 far better than I know him. >_>
What I do know about him, mostly from her is that he's fairly well off, high powered job and lives in a house with a pool. damn him!

A characteristic Para moment for me was the day the extra instruments were announced for Guitar Hero IV. Now for most people the feeling was at best added gameplay variety, at worst less Guitar focus. But for Para? Oh no, everything has to be dramatic for him when it comes to these games.
He threw what is best described as a hissy fit, describing it as one of the most miserable nights of his life and generally whining over how the extra instruments were certain to ruin a game that development had barely even begun for yet.

tranny is a guy who I don't and never really have had strong feelings for either. He's a guy who's there and I've never understood why he's held in high esteem by some. Not to say I have any problem with him, I don't. I just don't see the reasons for him being held in high regard. He's not especially witty, creative or informative. He just seems like the typical workhorse kind of poster who adds tidbits here and there to other peoples efforts, rarely stepping up to lead a debate or discussion tranny is just the kind of person who quietly keeps the conversation moving along.
So as a poster, average or decent are good words to describe him. He's useful to have around though never essential to any part of the board.
As a person I find him awkward to talk with, while he's no KleenexTissue sarcasm is still his default stance and that's never a good stance to have unless you're playing a joke alt. As such it's difficult to ever hold down a conversation with him or get a read into his character. He usually comes in frequently with small posts, usually some brief sarcastic jab to the extent where I've probably said more in this post than tranny has in his most recent 50 posts combined.
But here's the core to my confusion over tranny. He spends more time than maybe anyone here but he's always the watcher. He's always monitoring everyone, passing remark on everyone but very, very rarely stepping out of this role to integrate with people outside of his clique. To me it seems like tranny has his group and they're important to him and everyone else on board 8 is inconsequential just through his generally callous and sarcastic attitude.

Hippo's essentially become the new durango and sadly has a target on his back wherever he goes. And while I'll be the first to admit that he says some silly things, none of them are malicious and it's really unfair when someone gets practically assaulted constantly by a lot of users when that's all they're doing. Sometimes it's justified like with SDR or when somebody like Muffin is being a douche but meh Hippo's a nice guy and doesn't deserve being kicked around the place like he is.

Like Vlado, Dr Pizza is another guy who at times is so ignorant he's downright hilarious. Though I end the comparison there, while eccentric I feel like Pizza is more grounded than he's credited for and at worst on the fringe of insanity rather than toppled head first into it.
His best moments are easily his videos, especially one entitled "It's time to shut the **** up, smurf". I think that one pretty much explains itself!
He <3's Cool Spot which is worth top 100 alone and aside from usually pops up now and again to bring on the fun.

Big jump for this guy and I've changed my opinion of him somewhat. I think he is a little bit sterile personality wise but he's not a bad guy. A few standout moments for me were when he opened up to the board about his strange furry pokemon dreams. While admittedly unusual I have to respect a guy who has the balls to stand up and be honest about something personal knowing full well that 90% of the board were going to mock him for it, and they did just that which is always a shame but few people would have the balls to even admit to something like that.

Bio's an incredibly moody individual and I've compared him to andy in the past, a comparison which I feel is just because these two like nobody else are aces at polorising people. Bio can love someone, then hate them moments later and while he's not as extreme as andy when he dislikes someone he's just as vocal in making sure they know that.
The reason why he's been on tirade against me lately is pretty minor too. I remember him out for sulking in a brawl game against stingers. Quitting halfway through because he was losing or some such excuse. He didn't take this well at all and suddenly I was public enemy #1. <_<
meh, I've never been the kind to hate someone who hates me or even like someone because they like me. Bio's an interesting person and usually a nice guy with good taste and I share Chris's view of being intrigued by his flaws.
If Board 8 were a city it'd be built around a solid gold 90ft high statue of this guy.

SHINE divides me somewhat. On the negative side most of his friends on the board are the people who populate the ass end of this list and when he gets in full SHYPE flow it can be annoying. Well it's fine if its for a game I like but when it's for something like Mega Man 9 it's just annoying. I guess most people are split on that kind of thing too.
On the other SHIDE...ok I'll stop doing that. He's a really nice, fun and entertaining guy. He's always making upbeat topics, is very knowledgable about most games and is usually part of the core users who are the heart of the board. Plus Kobe battles are win and playing him at Mario Kart was really fun despite his tendency to pick the accursed Moo Moo Meadows. >_<

Palmer is similiar to SHINE in many regards, he's loud and in your face whenever you're on the board making him virtually unavoidable, he's a core player on the board and he divides my opinion though like SHINE it mostly lies with the positives.
For one, not to be disrespectful I don't think Palmer is all that bright or at least comes across like that. Though much like PUN that makes him quite lovable! His jokes are pretty funny and his friendliness is tough to match.
On the other hand he's shallow, has really bad alts which he uses oftentimes without telling people who it is and sometimes has a tendency to use the board as his personal forum. I don't know, at night time I just feel sometimes that 5 or so people just take over the board for themselves. Palmer could really do with AIM if only to stop 40 Frosties / ATTN PUN topics every day. ^_~

Last time I was talking to her we got onto the subject of music and she recomended her favorite band to me. Some...freaky death emo metal band that I'd never heard of and the video thoroughly disturbed me. No other conclusion can be met other than her having terrible taste in music, even worse than Steiner!

A guy that I don't have a massive opinion of, I talked to him once directly I think and other than that it's been nothing but seeing him around. But he does occasionally contribute with some awesome posts and naturally his Resi knowledge is unmatched!

The number one mod and I gotta say the fact that it wasn't an easy decision shows how high quality the mods are we have on this board, and it's really worth taking seriously when that praise is given because being mods is usually a thankless job but the 3 I've ranked and gravija who I haven't are all excellent at what they do.
Even if this guy does have an unhealthy fixation with a certain fiction I wrote as a kid which will remain nameless...
70. Tom Bombadil
Long time friendly user who's had an odd year. He fawned for a while over some girl, got here then lost year and since then has moping around even seeming a little abrasive at times.

Ngirl is a user who while not the most social is a mass of hard, solid, throbbing fun. She's very witty and entertaining, finding a boring ngirl post would actually be quite difficult for me given that she's either talking about soccer, high quality video games or some fun board drama. And irony aside she has balls of steel, moreso than any other user on the board. She came out of nowhere an rap challenged the black crew, invited everything Luster had on to her, posted naked pictures without any encouragement whatsoever and in my interview with her was unashamedly honest about everything I could throw at her.

Zach while an avid sufferer of serious syndrome has always been a nice honest guy to me. You know what you're getting with the guy and he always presents himself at face value. He does many important things around here not least spearheading the wiki and stickham revolution and I feel that he never gets the respect he deserves. especially with some of the recent nonsense. It just seems horrible that there are people here who spend all day declaring Zach as worthless yet happily use the wiki regularly.

LASA GET 64. If there was ever a totally widespread user it'd be Lasa. He seems to appear across every corner of the board usually filling that voice of reason void which is by default unfilled on this board.

A user who I've bounced between liking and loathing in the past. And I wouldn't say I've settled on him other than he's just one of those users that can be very likable one day and a douche the next. He's done some fun things in the past such as the BE2 shenanigans or babyface or whatever of that alt was. Also he shouldn't still be here now since I beat him in a rap battle condemning him to leave the board for a year, I think he left for 4 days. -_-
62. Durango
Durango at times is the most cringeworthy user on the board, no denying he says some of the dumbest things none to man and also suffers from brawl doucheitis much like Stingers but just talking to him shows that he's a nice guy. He's a little quiet though ambitious, seems to have low esteem as well. Though he has very good gaming taste and is a completionist sort of gamer so as you'd expect is very gifted at the difficult games. I've always found him nice to talk with and once I realised that I felt bad for him given his reputation on the board.

Struggles to post anymore and despite his atempted asswipe image he's actually a real cool guy. Best thing he's done this year? Given me a demonoid account! ^_^

I really get the impression that Shaggy doesn't like me. He constantly comes into my threads nitpicking mundane points and always seems to be this eternally present symbol in my topics with a giant "?" over his head as he struggles to grap what's actually going on here.
If I were to personify Shaggy (or rather the user representation of him since it's assumed he's a person already) I'd do so as some scientist with glasses in a lab coat. He likes things spellt out for him, he doesn't like ambiguity and sometimes I get the impression that internet culture goes right over his head.
Aside from that I think he's a decent user, there's no great warmth eradicating from him but I wouldn't he has a loathing bone in his body either. He's a bit like Lasa in the role he plays on the board often attempting to play the resolver in disputes. And I like Shaggy, I do but I've just never felt the shaggy love.

However much he hates the tag he does act really emo sometimes. He puts himself down constantly and then there's that emoticon which can be described by no other word other than emo but I think he stopped using that for just those reasons.
But I like CPU, he's funny to rattle and a nice friendly guy across the board. ^_^

If Board 8 is a city built around AT then Aeon would be a rival city downstream with firmer breasted women and an army of raptor's. Aeon's another user who you just can't dislike, it's always funny to read his posts and at times his wit is beyond the level of this place.

Pretty much the only other Rpg Maker around here worth his salt. I'll change that when sephs and PUN actually getting around to producing some sort of finished game instead of tweaking minor code segments (sephs) / graphics (pun). FoS is a solid developer from what I've seen even though if he didn't finish his first project he seems to be coming along well with his new one (I've downloaded the demo just need to play it now!), very positive guy and a great host for rpgs. I reckon some day soon he'll get a smash hit around here. =P

Luster never ceases to bring a smile to my face. I thought last year the novelty might have worn off but it hasn't he still makes me laugh with nhis naive and "unique" nature. Deep down he's a deep and honest guy and to his credit he's cut out the harassing girl users from his game.

SBell is one of the wiser statesmen of board 8, mainly because he has a wife and a stable job so we can learn much from him! He's also lighthearted, fun and pretty straightforward. Kind of like neonreaper only the exact opposite!

While I don't know aga enough to call him a friend, by god do I respect him. He's board 8's own entrepreneur and makes his side money by hosting images, cartoon porn and selling sonic sprypainted pictures on ebay. He always seems to be busy with his next project and he's a downright ace guy to boot.

One of the most selfless people here, like a modern day Kawaiifan. He assists a lot with the wiki, saves topics and helps a lot in various community topics. Criminally underrated.
The very first guy I'd ever have termed a friend not only from board 8 but the internet itself. Das Drol was the biggest reason why I stayed here during the off season in 2003. He was a constant bag of laughs and we had so much immature fun revolving around getting banned and dick jokes. I guess we were like the dumb frat boys of board 8 back then but dammit I had fun! As well he hooked me up with a Gmail invite when they were in high demand. The invite for the email I still use today. ^_^
A big riser this year, Bucket for a long time was a guy I knew of but never actually knew. But this year I started talking with him on occasion, he was telling me of his idea for studying abroad in Ireland and seemed pretty sharp about current affairs and was generally a lot of fun.

The coolest PotD'er by a longshot and is always fun when she shows face around here. My impression of Naomi is that she's a total messer in a good way! She kidded around with being pregnant on PotD for the last April fools and the other day said in Aurora's topic of her many exploits of WoW males to do her bidding. She's seems a constant source of fun and friendly and if you're looking for direct comparisons I'd say she's similiar in style to nintendogirl or Shake. Plus she's Danish and we need more Euro's around here!

Whit's stepped out of the shadows in recent times and become a far more openly contributing member of the board. He still doesn't stand up and make a lot of topics but is always contributing and churning discussion along. Nice, honest guy with no crap attatched.

However much this guy loathes me I've just never been able to return the feeling. Like Luster, GMUN , Vlado or Shadowhalo andy is exactly the kind of oddball that makes Board 8 so unique and brilliant. He's got a short temper, low tolerance and awful insulting skills making him awesome to have in any topic since you just know he's liable to kick something off with someone at any moment.
As a person he intrigues me. He's quite immature and rash which is why most people (myself included) thought at first he was around 14, when in fact he's the same age as me and in his final year of college. He generally has two stances on people, friend who he'd trust his life with and traitorous filth. And that again is lulz waiting to happen.
But andy's this high for more than just stirring ****storms up. I do think deep down he's a nice guy, just a very unstable and volatile one who'll perhaps settle down one day.

Previously I didn't like her much at all for no other reason than she associated herself with Lopen and I knew little else about her. But since then I've been learning more about satai's character and she's been steadily climbing up the rankings. My impression of her is not only that she's friendly and good natured but that she's also very driven and much like me likes to have some sort of project or something going on. Whether it's a list or a playthrough satai does a lot of them and honestly quite well. And as well she's a wide ranged and very open gamer and seems to get through a lot, especially rpgs.

Another Newcastle fan in the top 100! Cobain's a major player in the soccer scene around here and had that epic chat with andy where he outlined his hilarious "get back at me" plan. =P

Formerly ssknux and to be honest I didn't know a lot about him then. He was obviously a person with good taste having "knux" in his name but that was as far as my knowledge went with him. So he took a namechange and the fresh approach has let him stand out a lot more. I've used this phrase a lot already but he fills what I call the "Lasa role" on the board a lot. In that he's constantly adding to topics rarely standing up and starting them himself. But not just that he's been helpful to a lot and even to me and the wiki team by updating it from this, so there's similiarities to carvey there (thanks for that btw ^_^). Plus he's obviously a sonic fanboy and a very friendly individual. Great user and even greater promise to be a big star on the board.

lefty initially struck me as someone who filled the "Zachnorn" role....ok I'm not going to start any more writeups like this.
Lefty's very honest, blunt and stragihtforward. There's little sarcasm and a lot of face to face talk with him. In that regard he's like Zach or red13n or someone which probably explains why Chris likes him since he digs that whole real person thing he's got going.
Lefty's also quite big in a lot of projects on the board and takes them quite seriously, so Ngamerish a bit there. Maybe a bit too seriously especially with regards user contests though I think it's more of a desire to win for the sake of winning rather than the Icehawk reasoning of wanting power from e-pop. Overall nice guy, honest guy, solid and depednable guy. Good user.

DSR in the past has had the worst case of leftyitis since.....lefty. In that he cared so much about user contests, and at times was far more Icehawk than lefty in his approach to them. I thought it was bad at the time with his circle jerking voting which saw him do so well in the UUL and to a lesser extent UOTY but when I heard that he had been using alts Rocktillery, Boosghost and AlienBabelian in the UUL as well I thought "wow". I mean that's a huge chunk of the league belonging to DSR.
But he's moved on a little since then and clearly by his admittal to those alts it shows. He's a fun guy and I've always found him friendly, open and generally just looking for a laugh. Some of his antics recently have been really lulzworthy. ^_^

Few users entertain me like Vlado does. Why? Because he takes himself so seriously, while Turn is an expert at being hilarious through wit, Vlado is an expert of being hilarious by behing himself. His language is so literal that while his phrases make perfect grammatical sense but in common terms it's just plain odd. And his ideas, wow. Vlado's like the typical outcast of society, take the goth kid in school for example. He's been deemed an outcast and slowly builds up a loathing from those who won't accept them lashing out at them (hence why he loves newbies because they're not yet part of the "problem") and atttempting to belittle them at every possible stage. And I love it.

If agasonex was obsessed with statistics instead of porn he'd be NGamer through and through. NG's another user who's renowned for his projects and invention rather than his day to day discussion. He loves contest projects like the guru, social projects like managing the wiki and played a key role in the last uoty as well as his own user projects. (presidential election which never happened aside!)
A throwback to the old style creative user which is increasingly rare.

The 2nd highest gainer on the list is grandfool, a guy who I knew little about turned up this summer and proved to be a very friendly and very selfless guy. Most by interaction with him has been over AIM, at first playing guitar hero battles with him. But after I got my strat he provided me a load of guitar help and was always on hand to help me out on anything. He was just so helpful and willing to help me improve. Very nice guy. ^_^

Another super mega kawaii friendly user is ray. His love for Man Utd might suck but his anime knowledge is unrivalled. And he's got good taste with all his Haruhi youtube videos. Really nice guy and the number 1 user outside of America and Europe!

The nicest guy I've never known. Or at least known that well, my encounters with stripey have been brief but pretty memorable. He oozes positivity like a well worn stripper falling down a flight of stairs scattering dollar bills from her clothing in every direction. He's an immensely friendly guy and I've seen that on many occasions, not only in how he seems to adore his girlfriend but how nice he was to me when I cat died, I guess he knew exactly the right thing to say when nobody else did. I've always felt he's never got his due on board 8, I remember him being dissapointed for getting destroyed in UOTY last year and that's pretty harsh but I guess that makes him one of the most underrated users around.

Here's a prime example of why I make it my business not to make friends with people on the internet. Because when they self-destruct I actually care instead of it being something I can simply ignore. Be friendly, not friends is always a good motto to have on the net.
GMUN has had probably the most prolific year of anyone on the board. Last year he was a bit of a poor man's Luster renowned for his fondness of e-girls. This year he got a far more harmful reputation of being creepy, weird and obsessive and it's not unjust. Once his intent finally soaked into pika's head and she started pulling herself from the board GMUN seemed to implode becoming clingy and obsessing over a person he barely even knows.
In conjunction with that he's become depressed and emo spurning the nickname "Mopey-mun" which is also not undeserved given that he suggested he was suicidal the other day. Thats the overview of his year, obsessive and mopey.
On a personal level though GMUN has been very awkward to talk with over the last while, whining over pika, inciting attention towards his sisters naked pics then throwing a god awful tantrum when I get ahold of them. But the biggest problem I have with him is his inability to take responsiblity. "Sorry" is a word you'll probably never hear GMUN say.
Actually that's a lie, the biggest problem I have with him is his selfishness. His attitude to his parents, his sister, pika's feelings alone are horrible at times but I'm not even going to criticise him on those because that's not my place. I have more than enough material to do so personally.
GMUN's like a helpcase sponge in that he soaks up the assitance and sympathy, never giving it back out again. And I very rarely look for that kind of thing off the internet but in what was a rough summer I attempted to confide in a friend and got memes and a BE3 de-admining thrown back at me. Yeah, that's a great way of handling someone at breaking point GMUN. And as a result my opinion of him was pretty much shattered. The internet is a cold place sometimes but all I can say is I've tried to help the guy, he's given nothing in return and I just don't think he's worthwhile anymore. I'd say he's hurt and frustrated me so many times I'm not sure If I'd even consider him a friend any more.

Another guy that I have nothing but good things to say about. He seems to have done a bit of a personality swing in the past year, got a bit more confident and a bit less sheltered which is all good. He's constantly reaching out to people around here regardless of who they are and I've found him even very honest about his own friends which is refreshing.
29. The Utility Man
Here's another guy who I felt let down by during the year (ironically also linked to pikaness) but in comparison to GMUN I think there's a far greater chance of me letting it go with TUM.
TUM, like GMUN hit drama highs early in the year because of the pika exposed antics. He took it considerably worse than GMUN, and I always felt that his affection for pika was more genuine than GMUN's in the sense that TUM liked pika because it was pika while GMUN liked her because it was a girl who would tolerate him.
TUM took it so badly that he declared he was leaving and that he was closing his account, if this came from anyone else I'd probably laugh and say "see ya next week" or whatever but I know TUM well enough to know that he despises drama and wouldn't come to a decision like that lightly. I remember getting a text message from work one day that he needed to talk and he was really cut up about pika, I think he still is. Anyway I managed to talk him out of closing his account but not leaving, and he did just that. He left the board and cut all contact with board 8'ers including me for a good 5 months or so.
In the last month I started making contact again and while reluctant at first he came back. He seems to feel that his friends at the time me and Ryoko abondoned him at his time of need which given that neither of us were posting regularly during that time I think is quite unfair but I think he's slowly getting over that idea.
As a person TUM's the same as ever, friendly, funny and always searching for that elusive e-female.

One of the wittiest and most entertaining users on the board. neon's dry brand of wit really appeals to me and just works, if he was bad at it he'd be one of the most annoying users on the board but that just never happens. He tends to have that whole tranny thing of having a serious business and sarcastic mode which he switches between but I've always found him a nice guy to deal with even if he is a little strange, though in a good way. ^_~
27. Kawaiifan
The most selfless user ever, her topic saving is what kept me on the board in the early days. She was the driving force, the MVPs, the big cheese etc of Board 8 in it's prime. She's the best contest predictior in the oracle, created scripts to improve the retro skins, explained all the terms in fantastic wording to newbies and saved the valuable topics when nobody else would. She was worth far beyond anyone could imagine to the board.
26. pikaness
If you run up to a stranger and hold a knife to your throat claiming you're going to slash yourself and that they better stop you, then when you meet silence claim it again. Repeat until you do actually slash your throat and then wake up in ER 10 hours later. Is it fair to claim that it was the strangers fault for not stopping you? Ok they should have said something but in actuality it's your fault for slashing your goddamn self, not theirs for not kicking some sense into you.
This in a very abstract way is how I feel on pika with regards GMUN and TUM. Yes she let them fall for her ridiculously without doing a thing to stop them. But is that her problem? Did she lead them on? No. Did she ask for their attention? No. It's GMUN and TUM's problem and if anything they should feel guilty for putting her in a very embarassing spot which essentially has resulted in her maybe leaving the board.
I'm calling her a she because thats what she wants to be called. I've come up with evidence in the past that suggests otherwise but frankly that's irrelevant. It was done from a point of view of helping TUM and GMUN and in retrospect I took the wrong view entirely and shouldn't have been demonising pika.

It was at this point I started realising just who the villain and who the victim was in this whole game.

pikaness is a nice user, a very nice user. A user who'd wish no harm to anybody. She isn't that socially aware of others feelings and that's apparent. But neither are a lot of other people around here so it's not fair to single her out for that.
25. ZenOfThunder
One of the most random and hilarious users. Zen has a unique brand of humour and he really makes it work. A bit like War in a sense and comes up with some of the most awesome material like his "if you had to sex..." pics or his "win in a fight" topic conditions. He's had this weird obsession with screwing over match pics lately. Which is all well and good so long as he doesn't do it to one of my favourite characters! Overall I've found him very friendly and awesome to talk with, and was really helpful while playing Persona. A user who's certainly on the rise with me. ^_^

Mr. UUL gained a new identity this year as Mr. Why dont you post more often gawd gawd gawd!
I suppose my fondness for yazman can be split two ways, firstly his UUL which is in my opinion one of the top 5 projects ever on Board 8. The balance between him and SE was perfect and it was magnificently run, never slipping up once even to the extent of knowing when to call it quits. It was a lot of fun and a lot of users made their name through it which given its structure was probably one of its aims so for its overall success yazzy can be proud!
The second thing I like about yazzy is as a person he's very friendly and very real. He likes soccer, has a good job and speaks generally about positive things. Plus he's starting a family now which makes him a real board 8 success story. We don't have too many of them. =P
23. Yonex
Tidbit of info. Yonex is the first board 8'er I ever played in any online game of any description. The game was Super Mario Strikers on the Wii, of which I'm a self confessed addict of it. Yonex had the guile to challenge me and the cheek to laugh at me when I picked Peach. Needless to say he felt a bit schooled when he saw the 12th unanswered goal go in. ^_~
And my connection with Yonex grew since then as he seems to have a scarey amount of common interests with me. He was on the major people I was playing on Mario Kart Wii, he competes in the soccer leagues with me as well as being a major Prison Break fanboy like myself!
Plus only recently I discovered the identity of his brother who happens to be another user in the Top 25 so more plus points there!
22. The Hardcore Kid
The highest black guy on the list and it's a guy most of you probably didn't even realise he was black, if you've heard of him in the first place!
Hardcore's a dead friendly and intelligent guy who posts here once in a blue moon but with his face to face posting style he's very noticable when he's about. Cool guy.

BIGPUN reminds me of sucre in Prison Break down to every last detail. All brawn, no brain who digs himself into ridiculously hilarious situations but has such good intentions you can't help but love him! Or to be more flattering Cliff Fittr in Star Ocean 3.
PUN's incredibly lovable and silly in every regard, he's so friendly and positive yet comes up with some absurd ideas and reasoning that makes him so unique. Also he's shockingly easy to offend which if you do so he'll pout for a few hours like a newborn puppy that's just been scolded with a newspaper. <(^_^)>
He's also really fun to chat with and an invaluable fan to the Rising Games and the Rpg Maker tool in general.

Another extremely nice user here that I wouldn't have a bad word to say against. LHG is very naive by nature which I guess makes him vulnerable to a lot of people around here, I always thought the brigade of people against him because his english wasn't as good as theirs was incredibly unfair. And his whole e-boyfriend hunt landed him in trouble more than once I think. >_>
But awesome guy who I have a lot in common with and I generally find me even sharing opinions with him which is rare enough!
19. Dragonsfury
After Das Drol came Dragonsfury in my chain of favourite users. He was a very solid contributor to most my projects and at a time when I wasn't popular or didn't stand out for any reason a reliable friend constantly helping and contributing is invaluable. DF doesn't have a lot to say and is usually found in the character contest scene like Scorpion's ones.
18. Twilight The Fox
Despite being a valedictorian Twilight has never come across elitist in any way. I've always found him honest and grounded in his views, a sensible and smart guy is a nice sweeping way to describe him. Not incredibly opinionised and isn't as noticable a presence around here as he used but is still an awesome guy to chat with on AIM, and a worthy poke-rival. ^_~
17. Ed Bellis
He needs no introduction. Bellis is another incredibly honest and open user. He's been brave in the past in opening up to the board and the fact that doing such a risky strategy has never stung him is a testament to the kind of respect he has around here. But Bellis isn't just to sensitivity what AT was to wit there's far more to him and in fact he's quite widespread and active around many circles not least the VG music zone where he's borderline insane in his worship of the VG tunes. Personally I don't talk with him that much but I believe I've got a good judge of character and Bellis strikes me as someone that can be counted on. Once again he winds up as the clique king of the list. ^_~
16. Ayvuir
My long time rival and top tier user Ayvuir is never far from the peak of any list I do despite his incredibly dodgey choice of soccer teams to follow. While he's always fun to kid around with and has damn good taste (Bleach ftw) one thing underrated and probably underused with Ayvuir is his creativity. He's got the spark that few have here to actually create something original. Be it the foundation of the UUL or his Top 100 user voting he tends to have it to create the ideas just never had the persistance to follow it up with effort. (lucky for him yazzy, NGamer and carvy did though) ;)

Meta has always been my first port of call for anything anime or obscure japanesey video games. And he's well tooled with LL and Demonoid accounts too!
He's always been friendly and fun to chat with and in the minefield of awful anime opinions that is board 8, Ridley...well his taste in it ain't half bad actually!
There's a lot of history between myself and Ulti. Some good, some bad, some just plain ugly. But one thing he can never be accused of is being boring, Ulti's spanned a few persona's over his time here. Stathead, elitist, Troll, MIA Vet and most recently he's been playing the crusty cynic role.
His time on board 8 always strikes as one big drama monologue but personally I'd like to think I have a decent grasp of the kind of guy he is. He's blunt, honest and somewhat of a perfectionist as I always get the impression that unsatisfied with most things. But funnily enough despite our history we've been on quite good terms for some time, which is cool since Ulti's an awesome guy once you know to handle him which I feel a lot of people don't around here.
13. Mega Mana
If there's one guy I could pull from the internet and instantly be a real life friend with I'd put my bets on it being Mana. Why? He strikes me as a guy who it'd actually be challenging to NOT get on well with him. He's friendly, kind, charitable and a well mannered humour to boot.

And in sharp contrast from Mana's positive outlook and forced smiles Cyclo is next with one of the most pessimistic outlooks I've ever seen from a guy. His self-esteem appears to be at rock bottom to the extent where he constantly looks for transparent attention through "I'm Ryoko" or "I'm hot" around. Which if I'm to be honest both got old a long time ago and are overused.
And I've always felt that being at rock bottom was somewhat unwarranted for him. He's a good looking white male with several friends and had a shot at a University education. Tell the story of Cyclo to a kid in a 3rd world country who gets no such oppurtunities or chances and it should put things in perspective.
Though his view on life and himself wouldn't bother me if I didn't actually like the guy, which I do. He's got a dry sarcastic with, is very open ended and honest and incredibly easy to chat with. In fact looking back he's changed a lot from his former self on board 8 where he generally lay in the shadows to now someone who loves to be the centre of attention. Which is curious from a psychology point of view, but yeah he's an awesome guy and even at worse he's not MYC pessimistic or anything, it'd just be nice if he'd drop it.
12. Swift
Swift is dead on, no crap this guy'll give it to you straight good or bad and I like that, he's honest but not weak-minded about it and is confrontational on a daily basis too which makes him an interesting guy to keep an eye out for around the board since he's usually cooking something up.
His fond attitude towards his Italian roots has always peaked my interest and it's a welcome change from American users who have vague connections with Ireland, England, Germany etc and not knowing a damn thing about their self proclaimed "homeland". While Swoft certainly makes it his buisness to know what he's talking about so he can rightfully claim such a thing.
I suppose he's alike to Ulti in his ability to give it straight to people and ExTha since he's so fun loving and never takes himself too seriously. Always a good laugh, great user NOW JUST STOP BELIEVING THAT I'M A GIRL. ¬_¬
11. Alanna82
Lan is someone who I have nothing but nice things to say about and frankly if this list was held 2,3 or 4 years ago I can assure you that Alanna would be the only user on the site this high year after year. What endeared me towards Alanna was that a time when I was a hated figure on the board, the bane of Ulti's existence and the sheep drones on the board felt like rallying behind him to smite the apparent plague that was me, well I was low on support. I had people I got on well with but at best I could hope for them not to join in the e-stone throwing session as Ulti rallied the troops. But Lan was the exception, I didn't know her all that well but she willingly took a knock out of her own board status to stand up for me. Even on the internet being involved in a 20 to 1 debate makes you feel pretty cornered as no matter what you say it's never going to be accepted by your firmly entrenched opposition, so to get some support is always nice. ;)
I've seen her do the same in later years for jp and andyman when everyone was against them. Regardless of what kind of people those two were, they didn't deserve a backhand from the sheep mentality of this place. Because if there's one thing Board 8 does well it's kicking people when they're down.
I went on to find out that Lan's incredibly open, honest and friendly and a great girl to have on the board. If you were more active you'd be in the Top 10 once again, no doubt.

Crim's the only one in the top 10 who I don't talk with over AIM often so there's something to be proud of! And here's another, you're the only person this year who gets to lose their Top 10 virginity! You must be very proud. ^_~
Like Cyclo she's someone who's been around as long as I have but I only began noticing her in recent years, once I got over the stumbling block of realising that her username didn't contain the word "hellkite" it was quite easy from there!
Crim is someone who I'd relate to far more from a real life perspective. In that she's a lot like the people I'd hang around in person rather than me appreciating her for some weird internet qualities. and she's always lighthearted and up for fun around here too. (See: her depiction of TUM in her fiction)
9. Sir Chris
Chris...Yes he's got an ego the size of small country, arrogance and an uncanny knack for making everyone believe he knows all the worlds secrets but the thing about Chris is that for every flaw or characteristic he has he's more than willing to account for them. And that's a pretty powerful ability to have since it makes him impossible to rattle. Hell he's about the only one which makes him virtually untrollable. He's so honest, so open and genuine that you just can't dig up dirt and hurl insults at him that he hasn't mulled over his head a thousand times before. And boy does he know it to the point were he just looks for trouble to step in and settle around here. While he's certainly not infallible or anything it's still always entertaining to watching him stepping into things like that because one thing Chris always brings to the table is a fresh outlook.
8. Shake
The highest riser in the list jumping up uh....467 places. >_>
Why such a jump for my former number 1? Well actually nothing he's done but rather my outlook on him, maybe I've matured a little but whatever the reason looking back on what I previously held against him doesn't seem nearly as menacing or harmful in retrospect.
About a year and a half ago I trusted Shake ..somewhat forcefully that I had a crush on someone, his response was one of surprise which eventually led to playful jabs and teasing. Which was ok, I deserved at least that in such a situation but the threats to tell everyone which followed really pissed me off. Why? I guess it was the first time I confided in someone over the internet and got stung, that hurt. It was also the first time I opened up about something over the net, made myself vulnerable and again got stung. It hurt and I blamed Shake entirely for it. Looking back Shake could have handled it better but crucially most would have handled it a lot worse, he never did tell everyone about it either or show the convo either so there's points for him but regardless the whole incident was my own screw up and I can't blame the guy for it. If you're going to do something stupid you can't complain when you get stupid results after all.
Take that away from Shake and there's only one piece of beef left, a piece that stays. His faking his own death a few years I maintain is bang out of order and something that I'll never see the funny side to. Especially recently when he commented in GMUN's topic where he suggested he was thinking of killing himself and Shake responded "Those kind of comments really worry people." There's no doubt in my mind Shake's a smart guy, he knew what he was doing and he knew he'd upset people in doing it. What's worse is that he didn't care whatsoever, he knew people would miss him if he was dead and exploited that. Added to that he mocks Ail when she's potentially dead for real. I'm all for fun on the internet but things like that is stepping over the line.
Few complaints aside Shake's a genuinely awesome guy. Silver tongued, sharp witted, great debater and great opinions. Even his game taste is not unlike mine down to the obscure love of Monkey Island and Grim Fandango. His friendly to take with over AIM yet by choice keeps Board 8 at a distance these days only rarely drawing it close.

6. MajinZidane
Majin's a good friend no doubt. He's always fun and always available to talk with. He even participates in soccer things even though he doesn't quite understand the rules but has this uncanny knack to stumble upon success all the time regardless. >_<
Our new national sport Majinball especially is awesome (much better than Mafia FYI). Only quibble I'd have with the guy is I wish he'd speak more genuinely with me rather than random AIM comments, like when he tries to construct an actual conversation like his gamestop or college stories its fun and great to chat about but its just kinda like "what" when he pops up with random messages that makes no sense, though maybe he's waiting for me to lead the chat which I probably don't do nearly enough of!
Fun Fact: Majin's one of only 3 users with my cellphone number! Even though he's not allowed text me anymore because of cost rates which may be a blessing in disguise since IIRC he woke me up one night because of it. ¬_¬
5. TurnTurnTurnTurnTurnTurnTurnTurn
Turn in many ways is like a typical old fashioned English boy. He appreciates the arts, has a desire to live up to male stereotypes, enjoys a spot of alcohol and possesses a silver tongue which is probably used for regailing his chums about how much he likes crumpets or some such. Now take that whole package and imagine a giant self-parody of it and you've got Turn. ^_~
Turn's a really friendly guy who's loads of fun to chat with whether it's here, AIM or facebook. He's always lighthearted but never in an offensive kind of way and he's so down to earth. In fact him and Ryoko are probably the only two users on the board who I reckon would integrate seamlessly with my real life friends.
My sole problem with Turn is his blood-thirsty desire to argue and debate with anyone or anything and it appears virtually unquenchable. It's not so much that he's strongly opinionated but rather that he seems to enjoy picking holes in arguements and challenging people as a sort of sport. Funny at times but it's produced some "oh lawd here we go again" moments too.
But regardless great guy, and if I had to go on a piss night with any board 8'er it'd be him. If he's this much fun sober...(or well only partially drunk) imagine how much a laugh he'd be off his face! ^_^
4. Shadow Ryoko
I've known of Ryoko for like 5 years now, in fact she was one of the first users I ever bumped into around here. I remember her having the lamest and most attention whoring sign known to man in the form of "*is a girl*" and the only contact I remember is where she signed up for my character game, made a kickass character and then vanished never checking the topic again. Truly a ¬_¬ character back then.
Nowadays I know slightly more about her than her gender and love for abandoning promising projects. She's from Boston for one...and likes weird cult horror/rpg games for another. and uh....oh yeah she portrays herself as a whore but only does a handful of guys which is like the internet equivalent of being a millionaire and patrolling the streets in a bag asking for "spare change". So yeah Ashley's an unique character if nothing else.
But when she's not putting on used stair panties or having a constant sweatdrop glued to her head from listening to us she's a damn decent user. yokes is far more of a "hey how are you, hows life" chitchat kind of user as opposed to the "omg mudkip parade" kind which comprises 95% of the internet. Though I always get the impression that yokes is a somewhat "afraid" of the internet. Like she feels that if she gets sucked in too much it won't let go which explains why she vanishes in streaks so much.
3. Inviso
vissy's a classic example of a person made up of huge strength's and huge weaknesses. Inviso is by self confession strong and independant and I would say a natural born loner. She's got this shell where she just seems to want to keep people as distant as possible from her, on the board I always get the impression she's posting through some cocky facade and over AIM it rarely goes beyond furry teasing or penis jokes. While all well and good normally it's a bit of an issue when she oh so rarely talks personally. Her personality is curious in that way as I feel she's either hiding behind her cocky facade or on other places her self created personas or "fursonas". She's a damn good fiction writer so adapting those kind of rules would be quite easy for her.
But the real her? I don't know since it's showcased so rarely. The parts I have heard are mostly negative, she doesn't like her work, roomates, social life etc and indeed herself as a whole which is sad but curious how she deals with. I'd imagine a lot of people around here feel the same about themselves, some try to improve their self-image, others go down the apathy route but she just seems to hide from it.
Though if she doesn't want to be herself that's ok, she's plenty of fun as is. She used to be far and away my favorite user given we had a lot of the same tastes in video games, forum games etc and I probably talked to her more than anyone over AIM to, and honestly never got bored doing so like I did with a lot of other people over IM. I think something changed when I took a 3 month internet break last winter/spring. She was my favourite user prior to it and at the start she started pestering me when she saw me on the brawl board to chat on AIM because she was lonely but 3 months later she seemed far more distant. Now spending virtually all her time on some survivor there was less board 8ing and less IMing, I'm not sure if the change is with me or if she's moved on from Board. It's really hard to get a read on her most times. Definitely an enigma. ^_^

I don't feel like a wall of text here and Jay has no negative qualities that I can think of so I'm just going to list the top few things I like about him. ^_^

Jay's the kind of guy who I'd imagine is difficult not to like, he practically exudes happiness and frolicing sugar coated fun wherever he goes. He's like Kirby personified only with more spinarak and less suck. ^_^
James takes the number one spot this year and it's very easy to justify why. He's been an awesome internet buddy to have over the last couple of years and even though we disagree strongly on some music and gaming opinions for every thing we don't have in common we've loads of common ground to make up for that. We're both big soccer fans and FM worshippers at that, we both heart rpgs, both are Smash players, both like our comedy shows and are both euro college students.
So whether its any of that or random college stories there's always something to talk about with him!
As for his personality he's fairly passive and sensible by nature with a hint of e-upper class britisms such as when he apologises for being disconnected which is pretty funny. =P
But all jokes aside James is an awesome dude, very friendly and I suppose straightforward which is no bad thing. There's no ?'s hanging over his head regarding his personality, no drama, no random reactions. He's so down to earth and honest I wouldn't doubt that what you see on the internet is who he actually is. He's given me some great advice and an ear to listen over the months as well to the point where I wouldn't hesitate to trust him with anything. Like Jay I can think of no negatives ( DoC doesn't exist, ok?) and my opinion of him has been unfaltered since I was first introduced to his unnecessarily voweled username. Worthy #1
