The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

You are Link, who is obviously one of the best characters ever, proven by almost every single character contest. And you travel around a big land and kill monsters to save everyone and become a legend. This is how all Zelda games go.

What makes Ocarina of Time unique is that fact that it was the first game done in 3D. Thus, the game is usually looked at through a nostalgia lens so thick that many would choose it as the best game ever made. In the Spring 2004 Contest, it lost in the quarter-finals due to bad bracket design that put it against Final Fantasy VII long before the finals, but it was the winner of the Spring 2009 Contest after defeating said game.

Oh, and Link is a child at the beginning of the game, but nobody really cares about that part.
