Solaire of Astora is a Knight of Sunlight from Dark Souls. He has willingly become undead so that he can search for his own sun. He is a cheerful powerful knight who does not seem to care about the world crumbling around him. He relinquished his deity status long ago, but still remains loyal to his warriors.
Solaire can be summoned to help fight various bosses, but the player is required to complete his quest in order to have access to him during the fight against the final boss. Should Solaire survive a boss fight he rewards the player with the Sunlight Medal which can either be traded or used to increase your rank at the Warrior of Sunlight Covenant.
"I am Solaire of Astora, an adherent to the Lord of Sunlight. Now that I am Undead, I have come to this great land, the birthplace of Lord Gwyn, to seek my very own sun!" – Solaire of Astora
