TheRye is just your regular B8er veteran, but he holds the distinction for being the only member of Board 8 to nominate L-Block for the Summer 2007 Contest, according to the official listing collected by ScorpionX3.

TheRye came to Board 8 during the Summer 2003 Contest. From that time until now and still continues, he just lurks around and only posts very occasionally on the board. Well, at least he is still staying around and is recognized by most of the older members of the board...

He loves L-Block's run in 2007 and he has no regrets in nominating it into the contest.

• TheRye is the owner of the "LShaped Tetris Block" account created back in 2004. Now the account has quite a following for being the "original L-Block account" thanks to L-Block's surprise run in 2007.
• With that account, TheRye popularized the now ubiquitous saying of "SHAPED LIKE A BOOT TO KICK YOUR ASS" throughout the 2007 Contest. In fact, that particular contest can be summed up in that one single sentence.
